Prader-Willi Syndrome (CPWS0)
CPWSO is a national, charitable association, formed in 1998, dedicated to serving individuals affected by Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS), their families and interested professionals.

    Our objectives are as follows:
  • To promote broader geographic interest in PWS and encourage Canadian based research,
  • To seek increased diagnosis in infancy, to ensure that PWS, and not its secondary complications, will receive appropriate and early treatment,
  • To provide a national resource center for the dissemination of up-to-date information from the international pool of scientific literature about PWS,
  • To liase with the International Prader-Willi Syndrome Organization and with national affiliates around the world who share our goals,
  • To encourage the growth of provincial PWS associations across Canada,
  • To stimulate the development of community self-help groups and regional services, through provincial / territorial associations, for persons affected by PWS, and
  • To establish a national registry which will help determine the true incidence of PWS across Canada

PLEASE HELP US WITH OUR CANADA WIDE SURVEY

The CPWSO is interested in creating the very first Canada wide survey which will provide useful information about the numbers of people with PWS, their medical conditions as well as residential and other supports. This information will be used to promote supports and services for those with PWS across the country as well as creating a useful database of information so that we can help families seeking information.

Please help us by filling out our  Survey  and either mailing or faxing it back to us.  For agencies and professionals wishing to ensure confidentiality – you may provide first & last initials, birthyear, sex & province in order to help us exclude duplications.
Thanks for your help!!!!
