Effects of Long-Acting Octreotide Treatment on Ghrelin Concentrations, Weight, Behaviour and Appetite in Adolescents with Prader Willi Syndrome
(Research Project by: Kathleen De Waele and Jean-Pierre Chanoine)

Dr. Chanoine is a Pediatrician who graduated from the Free University of Brussels, Belgium in 1982. He joined the University of British Columbia in 1998 as Clinical Professor and Head of the Endocrinology and Diabetes Unit at British Columbia’s Children’s Hospital. Dr. Chanoine is also Director of the subspecialty care component attached to Shapedown BC, a clinical program addressing the needs of overweight children at BC’s Children’s Hospital.

Pat Tesan will be presenting a workshop on Will and Estate Planning for families who have a child with a disability.  This workshop will answer your questions about planning your will, discretionary trusts, choosing your executor and trustees and much more.  Pat will also be speaking about the new Registered Disability Savings Plan which was announced in April, 2007.

Pat is a parent of four children, including a daughter with a developmental disability.  She works part-time as a Family Resource Coordinator for PLAN, a not-for-profit social enterprise.  PLAN was established by and for families committed to assuring the safety, security and well-being of our relatives with disabilities.  For more information on PLAN please visit
